If your bag feels like a black hole, the problem isn't what you packed. It's how you packed it.
Here's the system we use to find everything in seconds.
Think in Zones
Every bag needs four zones:
- Diaper zone — diapers, wipes, cream, all together in one pouch
- Feeding zone — bottles, formula, snacks
- Clothes zone — extra outfit at the bottom, wet bag for dirty ones
- Parent zone — phone, wallet, keys somewhere separate
When each category has its own spot, you stop digging and start grabbing.
Keep Diapers Together
Diapers, wipes, and cream should live in one pouch — your whole change kit in a single grab. The Crown Carryall comes with a large pouch for exactly this. When it's time for a change, you pull the pouch and go. No hunting for three separate things while holding a squirmy baby.
Where you store that pouch is personal preference. Holly keeps hers below the zipper shelf and grabs it through the front pocket. Caroline keeps hers above the shelf and goes through the drawstring top. Neither way is wrong.
Put Clothes at the Bottom
Extra outfits go in the bottom compartment, out of the way (especially useful when flying with a baby). You hopefully won't need them, but when you do, they're there. The included wet bag is for the dirty stuff — keeps it separate from everything clean.
Use the Front Pocket
The front pocket on the Crown Carryall gives you access below the zipper shelf without opening the top. Baby's hungry? Front pocket, grab the bottle, done. Need a diaper? Front pocket, pull the pouch, go. You don't even need to take the bag off your back.
Restock When You Get Home
The best system falls apart if you don't reload. Takes two minutes:
- Check diapers and wipes in the pouch
- Swap out the dirty wet bag
- Make sure the extra outfit still fits (they grow fast)
- Refill your water and snacks
Stop Overpacking
If you haven't used something in three outings, take it out. You don't need four toys. You don't need two extra outfits for Target.
The Crown Carryall is 1.5 pounds empty - we believe in lightening the load!
